After 9 days straight of biking and 62.9 miles covered, my knees were starting to get a bit sore (and the soreness was not going away overnight). So I decided to take my first day off from riding (rest day) and hit it hard when I got back on. So Saturday I did not ride. Then Sunday I was sick and unable to ride at all. I am still sick today, feeling pretty miserable but I did get on the bike because I don't want to let this roll into days and days of no riding. I just did what I could today, which happened to be 4.3 miles. This took me through a bit more of Oregon forest...
...then over a hill and back down to see the beautiful view of the Lewis and Clark Bridge over the Columbia River, back into Washington state (I will return to Oregon later on this trip, all the while moving eastward across America, as you can see on my route map.)
Coming back into Washington, I see the Port of Longview. This is where all those logging trucks were headed!
Wow, look at all those cut trees. Amazing. It went on for what seemed like ages!
(and ages!)
I had to stop not far beyond this point. I am feeling rough and going to bed soon. Hope to get in a longer ride (or two) tomorrow. Oh, and I did weigh on Sunday: down one more pound to 243.
